Prylf

Kind of Green

Nine experimental hits, served with the power that would be generated if Darth Vader met Sun Ra in a duel believing it was Russian roulette – but turning out to be a German drinking game.

Rarely has a young Swedish group shown an attitude like Prylf does on their debut Kind of Green. They have the fangs on already from the start, and sometimes the music reaches such a level that makes the bobsleigh track in Vancouver seem like a preschool sledge hill. – Peter Bornemar, DIG Music

How much of the original tunes are preserved? I’m not sure that the answer is so important, but it’s definitely the tension between the old famous songs and Prylf’s cheeky, unpredictable and energy-sparkling treatment that moves you. – Alexander Agrell, Sydsvenskan

Is jazz the new punk? First the wayward Wildbirds and Peacedrums an now a crew of uncombed, schooled jazz musicians who rather play ugly than beautiful. They attack, tackle and mess up traditional standards as if they were called bob hund, reminding about when Lydia Lunch met James Chance in New York in the 70’s, only without the primal screams. – Peter Lindholm, Metro 4/5
